Classic Loom Fine Furniture Inc. In 1989, one of Marshall Lloyd’s original chairs was found in a Dutch antique store by M.J. Kanters. He was so intrigued by the beauty and durability of the loom upholstery that he decided to produce chairs in the original method used by Marshall Lloyd. Using beech wood frames, he made chairs by hand and in 1991 established his business as Original Loom Furniture Inc. Origineel Loom Furniture BV is a top manufacturer of stylish and authentic Loom furniture. As such, the furniture company is following in the footsteps of furniture maker Marshall B. Lloyd. In 1917, Lloyd discovered the specific Loom material. He patented the material and the manufacturing process he developed. The launch of the first Lloyd Loom chair was a momentous occasion. The very strong beech wood frame, covered with the wonderful Loom weave, proved to be a successful match. Stylish, elegant, and comfortable were the headlines in the reviews of those days. Until now these stylish chairs can somethimes be found in well-established antique shops, where they are standing in all their glory.

The Dutch furniture manufacturer, Origineel Loom Furniture BV, read all kinds of publications about the Loom inventor, his product, and his manufacturing techniques. Product specifications were closely examined. Finally, in the late 1980s, the memorable day arrived. The Dutch manufacturer was succesfull in launching the first authentic Loom chair on the Dutch market. Within a very short time, the furnisher managed to build up an excellent reputation.

Brown Street Furniture

Brown Street Furniture, Way up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, about an hour or so south of the Canadian border, there’s a little town called Whitefield. It’s the kind of place where you still see bunting on the town square bandstand on the 4th of July. Where the winters are cold and hard and beautiful. Where pretty much everyone knows how to change a tire and would stop to help you if you didn’t.

In this little town of Whitefield, you’ll find an old factory where craftsmen make the kind of furniture that stays in the family for generations. Simply designed and crafted with expert hands - it’s furniture made the way things were made back when quality still mattered. If you’re ever up in their neck of the woods, they would be happy to show you around. You can even try a cup of Janine’s coffee - if you dare. They’re easy enough to find – just off Main on Brown Street.
